Emirate Airline’s parent company Emirate group created a separate division within group named as Mercator to meet the information technology (IT) needs of the group’s companies.
Mercator, IT division of Emirate group started serving other airlines and grown to have more than 120 airlines as its clients, later during 2016 Mercator was merged/integrated with Accelya via Warburg Pincus.
I`sidus associated with Emirates IT / Mercator since 2004 and witnessed & analyzed changes in operations of Mercator under Emirate Group and under Warburg Pincus as Mercator and Accelya.
Creating the common culture with diversified multicultural and multi-lingual teams in Mercator among its large pool of software development teams – internal and outsourced through contractors – Tata Consultancy Services, John Keells, Infosys, GBM and alike was entrusted to us to design and deliver bespoke programs across SDLC – Requirements Management, Project Management, SW Quality Assurance and Testing and Estimation Techniques and Agile transition which we continued from 2003 until 2016.
This helped Emirates Group IT in establishing common terminology amongst diversified teams leading to better understanding and communication between the teams resulting in standardization of processes, improvement of processes and improved delivery time with reduction of costs.
